How to Navigate Procore Maps? (Android)

Before Getting Started

  • Make sure you have provided your project information to the Procore Maps Pilot team for initial setup.

  • Download the Unearth app from the app store on your mobile device.

  • Only the projects you provided to the Procore Maps Pilot team will be available in the Unearth app.

Here is an overview of Procore Maps after it has been set up for your project:

  1. The menu serves as a quick reference for all your data including Inspections, Observations, Photos, and any added Map Layers.

  2. In the numbered areas, you can see how many items are in each category and how many are mapped or unmapped.

  3. The map icons are color-coordinated by status.

  4. Click on an item within the map to view details from Procore.

  5. Filter the items on the map with various pre-installed filter options.

  6. Search for an address, item, and item details using the search bar.

Access Procore Maps

To view a project in Procore Maps, you must have ‘Read Only’ permissions or higher for each of the following Procore tools: Inspections, Observations, Photos, Documents, and Drawings.

  1. In Procore, select the project you designated for Procore Maps.

  2. From the Apps drop down menu, selectProcore Maps Pilot.

  3. If your project does not have an address, you will be prompted to enter one.

Next, you will start seeing data load for your inspections, observations, and photos.

If your Procore observations, inspections, or photos are marked as "Private," they will not sync to Procore Maps.If you change the privacy setting and don't see your data, please reach out to procoremaps_feedback@procore.com for assistance.

Map Layers and Map Style

Add Layers to Map

Drawings can be added if stored within the Drawings or Documents tool. You can add multiple drawings and layer them to detect any design conflicts. You can also add drone flights from drone surveys or other types of images as layers.

  1. Under 'Layers,' click +Create Layer .

  2. Click Drawings or Documents based on where the file is stored.
    Note: You can upload PDFs or GIS file formats such as KML, SHP, and geoTIFF. GIS files automatically appear in the correct place on the map once uploaded.

  3. Mark the checkboxes of the files you want to add.

  4. Click Upload.

  5. If you selected a PDF file, complete the following steps:

    • Enter Layer Name .

    • Enter the Scale for the drawing.
      Note: You can click on the drawing to see the scale information.

    • Click Next and the map layer will be generated.

  6. After the map layer is generated, adjust the location of the map:

    • From the side panel menu:* Click Crop to tap on the drawing and drag the corner handles around the area you want to crop.* Click Enlarge to show a full-screen view of your drawing.* Click Layer Color to choose a color for your map.* Adjust the slider to change the Scale percentage.* Adjust the slider to change the Rotation.* Click the checkbox to Show Map Layers Only.* Click the checkbox to Show Frame.

    • From the drawing on the map:* Click and hold the rotate icon. Move the cursor to rotate the drawing.* Click and hold the move icon in the center of the drawing. Move it in any direction on the map.* Click and hold the sizing icon. Move the cursor to enlarge or shrink the drawing.

  7. Click Done.

Add Layer Folder

  • Click +Add Folder to create a folder to group your layers.

Change Map Style

  1. Click the B asemap Style icon.

  2. Select the viewing style for your map.

Delete A Map Layer

  1. Next to the overlay you want to edit, click the horizontal ellipsis icon-ellipsis-options-menu3.png.

  2. Click Delete.

  3. Click Delete to confirm.

Edit A Map Layer

  1. Next to the layer you want to edit, click the horizontal ellipsis icon-ellipsis-options-menu3.png.

  2. Your editing options will appear.

Show or Hide Layers

  1. Locate the map layer you want to hide or show.

  2. Next to the map layer, take one of the following actions

    • Click the show icon-eye-show.png icon to change the map layer from shown to hidden.

    • Click the hidden icon-eye-hide.png icon to change the map layer from hidden to shown.

Manage Items on a Map

Add Unmapped Items to the Map

  1. Next to the item type, click the number in the 'Unmapped' column.

  2. Next to the item you want to add, click the Add Pin to Map icon.

  3. By default, the item will appear in the center of the map.

Filter Items

  1. Click the filter icon-filter2.png icon.

  2. Select one of the standard filters to view items that meet that criteria.

Move a Map Pin

  1. Click the map pin that you want to move.

  2. Click Move Pin.

  3. Drag and drop the map pin to the desired location.
    Note: The item will have a pink circle under it.

Remove a Pin from the Map

  1. Select the map pin on the map.

  2. Click Remove Pin Map.

  3. Click Remove to confirm.

Search for Items

  1. Click the search icon-search.png icon.

  2. Select where you want to search:

    • Anywhere or Unmapped

    • In Geofence* Click on the map to draw a selection within a specific area to search for an item.

  3. Enter keywords.

  4. Click Search.

Show or Hide Item Types

  1. Locate the Item Type (Inspections, Observations or Photos) you want to hide or show.

  2. Next to the map layer, take one of the following actions

    • Click the show icon-eye-show.png icon to change the map layer from shown to hidden.

    • Click the hidden icon-eye-hide.png icon to change the map layer from hidden to shown.

View Item Details

From the Menu
  1. Next to the item type, click the number to see mapped, unmapped, or total items.

  2. Next to the item, click the View Item Detail icon.
    Note: This will take you to the item information within the Procore tool.

From the Map
  1. Click the item pin on the map.

  2. Click View Item Detail.

Zoom in and out
  1. Click the Zoom in icon-zoom-in-esticom.png icon to zoom in within the map.

  2. Click the Zoom out icon-zoom-out-esticom.png icon to zoom out within the map.

Find Item Location
  1. Click the locationicon to find the location within a mapping service.

Reset Map Bearings
  1. Click the mapicon to reset your location bearings to the north.
