Create Custom Submittal Types
Objective
To create custom submittal types using the Admin tool so they are available to users as 'Type' selections when creating submittal items using a project's Submittals tool.
Background
A user with 'Admin' level permissions to the Admin tool can create custom submittal types that will appear in the 'Type' drop-down menu when a user creates a submittal in the project's Submittals tool. This gives users the ability to classify submittals using terminology that is appropriate to their businesses.
Things to Consider
Required User Permissions:
'Admin' level permissions on the Company level Admin tool.
Steps
Navigate to the Company level Admin tool.
Under "Tool Settings," click Submittals.
Under Custom Submittal Types, do the following:
Name. Enter a name for the submittal type in the box provided.
- The system adds the new submittal type to the list.
Create. Click this button to add the new item to the list.
- The system adds the new submittal type to the list.
Active. Place a checkmark in this box to mark the Custom Submittal Type as active. This allows the type to be available to end users as a selection in the Types drop-down list on the create and edit a submittal page.
